Rule 001.

Augustus IS a Garlean but has been a long time defector living in Ul'dah for the past 20 years. He has been involved in numerous community projects and even served 8 years in the Immortal Flames. He has no interest in being lumped in with Garlean politics. Rule 002.

If you see me out and about without the RP tag on, I am most likely not in character and are goofing off. You are welcome to approach and ask to start an rp session but depending on the energy with my tag off, I may refuse or schedule for later. Connections are great and I don't mind plotting out things ICly in advance. Just give a poke. I can be a slow typer and can lose replies in a heavy crowd. If I do, just let me know and I will be more than happy to fix it. We all love a good angst but there is a time, a place and an amount. If things are continually too heavy or the angst is beginning to stretch into the unreasonable, I may withdraw from the RP.

Rule 003.

Please keep in mind, my OOC and IC are two completely different things. Mun =/= Muse. I prefer ingame roleplay and am not likely to give out my discord to roleplay the first few meetings. My character is pretty lore centric and I’ve done my due diligence to make sure she’s abiding. That said, I don’t mind lore bending and don’t mind roleplaying with lore benders so long as it is within reason and makes sense. Respect is a two way street and I am more than happy to be understanding and respectful and ask only the same in return

Rule 004.

ERP- I may indulge in ERP with Augustus but I'm not actively seeking it. ERP would be in a timeline where he doesn't have his partners and I'm not looking for anything besides a reoccurring fling.I don't roleplay with people who meta knowledge or auto dodge or extremely break the lore. Its another block and move on. If you attack my character without discussing anything with me first, its another block. If you play a character who doesn't make sense lorewise but then have a gatekeepy attitude - its a block. Not interested. Anything OOC (racist or phobic language) or IC (uncomfortable themes that seem to glorify bad content) that makes me as a person uncomfortable, is another block and move on.

Rule 005.

I'm here to have fun so if something is bothering you regarding my writing or my themes, please let me know and I can change the topic. I won't rewrite my character but it doesn't mean you need to accept the conversation. We can move along. I don't wany anyone to ever feel uncomfortable in a game. I'm LGBTQ+ friendly and my characters are as well. I don't interact with people who are intolerant OOCly or ICly (I've never found anything fun dealing with someone who's racist in character, its usually just bland and annoying).

Rule 006.

Augustus is a lore abiding character with spoilers relating to A Realm Reborn, Stormblood, Post Shadowbringers, Post Endwalker and the Reaper Questline. Everything that is written for his character can be found as in game examples from these chapters. If you aren't caught up, I wouldn't recommend interacting until you are.These spoilers are tagged in the history/biography with the event and the expansion like   Event Title [ARR].

Personality

While the basis of alters is similar to a Dissociative Identity Disorder, it’s incredibly important to point out that Augustus does not suffer from a personality disorder. Augustus, through unfortuante circumstances, is two souls trying to exsist in one body.Augustus
Often the face and notable by his red hair, Augustus is the well spoken sort with bits of sarcasm that tend to follow his words when he needs a bit more venom in his bite.Darius
Often the more quiet and drastically blunt, Darius is noted by his white hair that takes over when he is in control. He sets things in a “this or that” category leading to a bit more simplified if not dogmatic view on things.

History

  BIOGRAPHY [Reaper Quests]    The Severna were once proud shadows to the empire. But when the emperor ordered the death of all reapers, Severna was expelled from it's records. Owning a new surname of Montague, they blended amongst new Garlean society, hiding their generational training in the secrets of their family catacombs. Augustus and Darius were two twins born under the cloak of Montague, trained from a young age before tragedy would strike and Augustus would remain the only living male heir to his name. The last mention of him is an army career before Augustus vanishes from Garlemald.He resurfaces, years later, in the sand of Ul’dah under a new name: Augustus Alders. What he has done between then and Garlemald is unknown. After serving years in the Immortal Flames where he rises to the rank of Chief Flame Sergeant, his full-time contract ends (see left) and he earns his citizenship. He sets up an agency within the walls of of his new home above a restaurant known as Macove’s where he works as an inspector. He has remained complacent in Ul'dah since.  Currently [Endwalker].    While not one for Garlemald in the years since leaving, Augustus tried to help many refugees out of Garlemald on behalf of the Lemures. Due to the events that led to the downfall, Augustus holds a more somber tone for Garlemald who struggles to get back up. He remains in Ul'dah now working full time as a Private Investigator (leaving only for cases) though hasn't assisted with smuggling refugees from Garlemald in sometime.

Augustus' daughter from a previous relationship. Tends to be a solid source of where he gets his morals, wanting to be a good dad for his daughter.

Not to be confused with the magitek from the first, this is merely an old refurbished drone Augustus fixed up from Garlemald. Can take video and pictures.

Augustus' partner and a full voidsent. Often stays in the 13th but he visits often.

Augustus' other partner. Often the two are inseparable on the source.

Much more like a little sister, Augustus' partner in the detective agency. She specializes in aetherology and antiques.

Fellow voidsent, Augustus and Mal are best friends - able to confide in one another given their void status.

Common Verse

Usually Augustus is on his own. Long standing Ul'dahn, he tends to find himself struggling to form any sort of meaningful relationships. Not uncommon to a date here and there or a one night stand, Augustus isn't looking for anything long term but isn't afraid to fill a spot in a bed if it means company.

Taken Verse

If Augustus is online, with an RP tag and is accompanied by one of his partners - then he'll fall into this verse. Usually these RPs are more off FFXIV and on discord but could be active in events when his partners are joining him in the fun. In this verse he is happily taken and not looking for anything more.

Ul’dahn Citizen

Long standing Ul’dahn, those from the city walls may recognize Augustus from his work in the area. He’s served in countless wars with the Immortal Flames, helped with various non profit causes, donated to refugees from Ala Mhigo, has since earned his citizenship. He pays his taxes, owns his own place, and proudly says he’s Ul’dahn. He doesn’t have any interest in being buttoned in with Garleans from Garlemald purely for his third eye.

Alder's Detective Agency

Office Location: The Sultana's Breath Subdivision, Apt 71 The Goblet, Ward 15 - Mateus
Owner and lead investigator at the Alders Detective Agency located above a chain resturaunt known as Macove's [same location, Apt 33]. He’s a dedicated PI, willing to investigate almost all cases with the help of some tech brought from Garlemald. It is noted that he can be a bit standoffish when someone hinders a case but is personable to those who need help and aid.

Garlean Defecter

Augustus is a long time Garlean defector. Those who still hold Garlemald and it’s values may take issue with the “traitor” who’s long since left his home and his miliary career behind. Other Garleans, however, may recognize Augustus from his work with the Lemures where in aiding other defectors Augustus has helped others out of Garlemald, housing them in a safe room within his office until they are able to safely move forward with their lives in Ul'dah.

Cases

Any cases with the tag free form are pure improv cases. They work as little icebreakers. I have small details about them and when I ask for further insight, you are more than welcome to make up more information on the spot in regards to it. These changes will be added and updated and will push Augustus in a direction to solving these. Basically it’s just a freeform RP. An easy way to start talking and something fun to do on the side.

Any cases with the tag Hook however are cases that other rpers have submitted - even you, if you’d like! If you’re a criminal who wants to be on the run from the law, or maybe you have a backstory with some unresolved mystery, I’m more than happy to work with you! Just follow the submitting a case instructions. These, however, I won’t be likely to bring up outside of active RP with the subjects / contacts listed in the submission request.

Submitting

Communication is KEY when it comes to submitting a case. I’m more than fine with playing a detective who’s just one step behind a criminal or is unable to fully solve a case, but all I ask is that we discuss what you’re looking for ahead of time so I can be sure to play the right role for you. If you would like to submit a case, please send me a tell or mail in game. From here we’ll work out the details, I’ll ask for some clues, people of interest (aka anyone who allowed to add/interact with the case), maybe pictures and put you up on my board. Once on my board, I may approach you or other related individuals who were given to further the case when I notice names in game with the RP tag on. It’s super lax and free form, I’m not going to hound or set you to a schedule.

Closing

Cases with the free form tag may close at any moment. This could be either a "break" in the case or it being "filed away" if I think it's just not a good ice breaker.These don't hold any merits in live RPs and will revolve around NPCs made up on the spot so there's not anything that comes from a closed case.If at any point, you’d like to close a hook case you submitted, just reach out. I’ll “file” it away and we can go separate ways.
